Ghost Hunt July 12, 2014.
Night of the first supermoon.

2014 has three Supermoons. A Supermoon is when the moon is closest to the earth. The gravitational forces on earth are at their strongest during these three months. It has been said that ghost hunting during these supermoons can have better results.
Mike and I explored three different places on Saturday, July 12th. It had been raining and mildly storming earlier in the evening so we couldn’t even get going until almost midnight. It is also said that rain and lightning can assist spirits with contacting hunters.
Westlawn Cemetery had a story about a vanishing cop car, a faded, glowing tombstone, and whispers heard in the south east corner of the cemetery. Mike and I checked out all of these claims but unfortunately did not have any luck seeing or hearing anything at the time. Any EVPs we took at this place didn’t produce anything.
Prichard Park was the second place we explored. There was a small shelter there and when I was walking towards it I began to feel very “creeped out,” as they say. Up until this point I had been feeling comfortable all evening. The stories about Prichard Park surround a male apparition with black eyes and a pale face. There have also been EVPs collected there, especially of deep growls. At this point the mosquitos began their assault on us. Any EVPs we took in this shelter also didn’t produce anything. In the southwest corner of Prichard Park there was a cemetery.
East Meadows cemetery was a place where stillborn babies and “John Does,” unclaimed by relatives, were buried. In 1971 the bodies were moved to the new cemetery, West Meadows, in the town of Rochester. But because most graves were unmarked at the time, no one can be sure that all the bodies were removed. Mike and I took our blanket and our equipment and attempted to explore this area. Unfortunately the mosquitos were terrible at the time and we did not think to bring spray with us. We managed to take a few EVPs but they did not produce anything.
The last place we stopped at was at the Root River Bridge in Racine off Hwy 31. The claims there are of an apparition of a little boy who supposedly slipped into the river and drowned sometime in the 1970’s. Although there are many children that have drowned in this river in the 70’s, there is no actual record found yet of a little boy drowning at this bridge. Any EVPs taken at this spot did not produce anything either. We plan to go back to these places again. Next time we will be prepared for any bugs that may want to attack us.
Although we did not see or hear anything we had a lot of fun exploring. We hope some of the other members of the group will be able to explore with us next time.
